About the role
The Data Science Lab is looking for a talented Data Engineer to join our innovative team and help shape the future of data-driven decision making. In this role, you will transform complex, large-scale data into actionable insights while designing and maintaining scalable, secure, and production-ready data solutions that power business and operational excellence.
Working closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders, you will play a key role in building the data foundations that enable advanced analytics, AI, and Generative AI initiatives. What you will do:
- Develop and maintain robust, efficient data pipelines to collect, process, and distribute large volumes of operational and maintenance data across both on-premises and cloud environments
- Design and implement relational and non-relational database systems, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and availability
- Utilize Python and data analysis libraries to analyze maintenance data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights, as well as develop and automate reporting mechanisms
- Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and IT teams to ensure data-driven decision-making and process optimization
- Implement data governance policies and practices, ensuring data security and compliance with industry regulations
- Continuously monitor and improve data processes, staying updated with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and aviation maintenance to implement innovative solutions
You fit, if you cover the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field
- 2 - 4 years of professional working experience as a Data Engineer
- Fluency in oral and written Greek and English
- Excellent knowledge in Python & SQL
- Experience supporting AI/ML workloads on Azure and Databricks, LLM integrations, AI governance, PySpark, Databricks, Fabric will be considered as a benefit
- Prior experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) will be considered an asset
And you have competence in:
- Communicating effectively in a structured manner, with all stakeholders
- Demonstrating positive attitude with a collaborative approach
- Working under pressure, managing changing priorities and meeting deadlines
- Problem solving and managing projects in an efficient manner
